Conclusion:
In conclusion, my hypothesis was proven incorrect. A little oil in a wash basin is so much smaller than a real oil spill in the ocean, and obviously much less of a challenge to clean up. It's very hard to contain all of the oil, which makes absorption easier, and the process requires thought and planning, in order to not worsen the issue. Because of the difference in size, even the slightest difficulty we might've faced in the lab, would be intensified to a much larger scale in the ocean, which is why they are so troubling. Our lab would've worked better if we had planned the use of our materials more strategically. We lacked some thought on which ones would be used for containing/absorbing, and that might've affected our overall results. Overall, I learned that when dealing with limited resources, there must be more planning involved.
